Dana is a Master of Education student with the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning in the Languages and Literacies program. Her interests in French Language LEarning has led to her completion of a Specialization in Education, Francophonie and Diversity. Dana has taught Grade 7 French Immersion for five years, but is moving to secondary in September where she will teach Grade 9 and 10 French Immersion and Grade 12 Core French.

Yuting was a Graphic Artist. Her great passion for language learning and teaching has brought her to OISE, University of Toronto. She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Language and Literacies Education. She hopes to become an EFL teacher in the near future. She sees art as an effective tool for reaching students and wants to introduce visual arts into her language classroom to increase literacy development for English Language Learners.

Marie is a secondary music and French teacher with the Peel District School Board. She is moving into her third year of teaching. Marie is completing her Master of Education part-time through the Curriculum, Teaching and Learning program through OISE. She holds a Bachelor of Music with a specialization in Music Education and Voice Studies from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Education from OISE as well. Marie hopes to build her capacities as an educator in bettering her understanding of her positionality in the classroom and how she can continue to disrupt dominant norms in her classroom to create a culture of social justice advocacy in her classrooms and beyond.

Julia is currently completing her Master of Education in the Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Department of OISE.  While finishing her degree, Julia works as a supply teacher for the York Catholic and Toronto Catholic District School Boards. She has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University with teachable subjects in History and English. Julia hopes to begin teaching in LTO positions this coming Fall season.  With her Masters of Education, Julia hopes to pursue a career at the board level in curriculum development.

Maya is a mover, creator and educator, with years of teaching and entrepreneurial experience. Maya holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University and is nearing the completion of her Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Pedagogy from the University of Toronto. Utilizing her career and educational experience, Maya launched her company LCI Movement. LCI Movement is a movement education company that brings dance, physical activity and creative movement into the classroom through various programs and products.
